News: An iconic coffee shop in downtown Jackson, Shades Café, will close its doors after 30 years. When I moved here in 1992, it was still called Vuarnet Café, a nod to the popular sunglass brand of that time.

One of Jackson Hole’s most important writers, economist Jonathan Schechter, offers a poignant, personal look at the sweet spot in history enjoyed by both himself and Jackson Hole.
