The weather pattern in the West has become more favorable for snow, with the Town of Jackson receiving about four inches last night. Skiers who made the 10 o’clock opening at Snow King this morning found a little powder skiing on top of the man-made snow base that allowed the Town Hill to open for the season on Saturday.
Unfortunately, the amount of snow required to open the rest of the mountain, and more importantly the vast majority of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village, remains considerable. My favorite place to check the local weather trends and forecast is the Bridger-Teton National Forest Avalanche Center.
